READY FOR SCRAMBLE
In flight time is everything
To “scramble” a fighter jet means to get it into the air as quickly as possible, in order to defend, interdict or intercept the enemy aircraft. The average Scramble time in case of any emergency is expected to take no more than four to five minutes. That leaves no time to check your timekeeping equipment.
Startimer Pilot Collection watch box
Time is everything for airline and fighter pilots. They must be able to ascertain at a single glance their ETA, point of no return, time to fuel exhaustion, non-precision approaches, time to missed approach and navigation calculations. A professional aviation watch becomes critical in cases of digital instrument failures, and therefore they are considered part of the AIS (Aircraft Instrumentation System).
At Alpina, we know all this, because we have been supplying a number of national air forces with reliable timekeeping instruments since 1921. We are also the official watch of the Cessna Aircraft Company. Our aviation watch philosophy is shaped exclusively by the reality of the perils faced by pilots, and especially to assist them in accomplishing their flying missions successfully and safely.
Alpina aviation watches are extremely precise, robust and reliable. They offer unmatched dial readability, which can be critical for the time-at-a-glance measurements required during fast jet manoeuvres.
The watches from the Alpina Aviation Collection offer timeless designs, with features like hinged case backs that allow a view of the finely decorated movement, extra-large “Bi-Compax” chronographs, World Timer functions, over-sized numerals, anti-glare sapphire crystals and vintage leather straps that easily close on the front side of the wrist. Together, these features combine to give any pilot the crucial information he requires.

About Cessna and Alpina
When the Cessna All Purpose took off on August 13, 1927, the aviation world was forever changed. In fact, Clyde Cessna’s cantilever design has been the standard ever since. The history of Cessna is a long line of firsts and today Cessna Aircraft Company is the leading manufacturer of business jets, turboprops and single engine aircraft, having sold more aircraft than anyone else in history.
Cessna Aircraft and Alpina share the same “Alpinist” values of innovation, perseverance and independent thinking which have resulted in the invention of the Sport Watch and the cantilever structural design in aircraft construction. Two standards that still today are a reference in the watch and aviation industries. Alpina is Cessna’s official watch.
